What exactly is a “Micro Wedding”?

Simply put, a micro wedding is an abbreviated celebration of marriage that only has a handful of invited guests (20 or under), but is a bit more involved than an elopement. It is shorter than a traditional wedding (3 hours), formatted differently (simpler) and less stress to organize (we've already taken care of the planning).

Will other couples be getting married at the same time as us?

You and your guests will have exclusive use of the venue/booked space during your 3 hours with us. There will not be other couples getting married at the same time as you.

How many guests am I allowed to invite?

We have a 20 guest maximum at our Micro weddings. This includes children over 2, your witnesses, and anyone you choose to have stand up with you.

What venues do you use for Micro Weddings?

We currently have two venues in Muskoka where we offer this style of wedding - a prestigious golf course, and a barn property. We also love coming to our couples who wish to get married at their own home, cottage, cabin, or childhood treefort! Connect with us and let’s chat about the details.

How long is a Micro Wedding?

Our standard is 3 hour bookings. Your wedding starts 30 minutes before your scheduled ceremony (invitation time), to allow us to welcome guests who might arrive a bit early. The ceremony itself usually runs about 20 minutes, leaving the remaining two+ hours to spend with your guests, enjoy some nibbles and refreshments, while our photographer captures candid images so your time is sweetly documented for years to come.

How many photographs will I get?

You will receive a minimum of 75 digital full resolution, edited images after your wedding day. These will either be sent to you by us, or directly from our photographer. There is always the opportunity for you to purchase more images, prints, albums, etc. from our photographer as well.

Can we bring our own photographer?

Your 3 hour booking with us includes full photo documentation, so there is no opportunity to bring a photographer to the venue during this time. Our photographers are professional, talented, well equipped, and familiar with our shorter than traditional wedding packages - you’re in good hands. If you choose to extend your celebrations elsewhere, you’re more than welcome to speak directly with our photographer about increasing their coverage hours, or source a separate photographer of your choice.

What do we need to bring with us to our Micro Wedding?

We make your job really simple! We handle pretty much everything with the exception of obtaining the marriage license, rings (if you’ll be exchanging), your guests, and one another!

Can anything be customized?

We can personalize pretty much anything. We have a prescribed package and schedule that is laid out to take away a lot of your to-do’s and stresses, however, this is your day and we love customizing and adding personal touches where you see fit.

What does the ceremony & cocktail reception set up look like?

We use the venue backdrop to inspire our set up - ex. our barn weddings tend to show more "rustic elements" than those held at the golf course. There is opportunity to request different seating, alternative altar decor and/or have some say in the colour scheme.

What about the reception, can we still do this?

Of course you can! We think it’s a lovely idea to have the ceremony and cocktail reception (your time with us) just with your family and closest friends, and then head somewhere for a celebratory reception with the rest of your social circle. The options are really endless. Our focus is to incorporate all the best bits of a more traditional ceremony, in a stress-free and budget accessible way. We create a beautiful foundation and see our couples build on that.
