A Muskoka Elopement Spot Like No Other

Monument-al Love

See what we did there?

There is no shortage of cool and unique places to elope in Muskoka. Traditionally, we may think of lakeside, a cottage property, on the dock/beach, or within nature for simple intimate “I dos”. One of the best parts of eloping is that there is no written script or location. Really, the options are endless.

M&C had planned to elope at the cottage they rented in Huntsville, however; when they checked in (the day before their wedding), they realized it was a less than ideal backdrop. No stress. It was back to the drawing board; luckily they had us to navigate this quick change and request.

After are few recommendations, and quick calls between the “wedding team”, we were back on track with a new elopement spot.

We took them to a “secret location” - within nature - where a large monument stands. This isn’t a place you just stumble upon. You have to be looking for it, you have to be purposeful in your search. The bonus of this is that the foot traffic is next to nil and you are almost guaranteed private access during your time there.

This cool backdrop also has paths through the woods, a pond, a cute wooden bridge, and a lengthy stone staircase lined with tall pines. It’s a photographer’s dream.

With the above in mind, we’re not going to give away any hints on location. If this looks like a spot you may want to elope, get in touch… we would love to go back and share this unique Muskoka wedding location.
